Eri silk shawls are

Fabric:
Eri silk shawl is primarily woven form Eri silk worm (Philosamia
ricini), also known as endi or errnadi. Eri is a non-mulberry silk, also
known as "wild silk". This silk comes in natural elegant
colors like cream, brown, beige and gold. Eri shawls adorned with extra
weft patterns in oak tassar and muga, offers delicate golden designs on
plain eri canvas. Eri shawls are also dyed in variety of shades. They
can be blended with cotton, wool, jute or even mulberry silk to create
exotic fabrics for making shawls and other garments.
Eri Culture:
Eri culture is an ancient cottage industry for the Tribal hill
inhabitants of Northeastern region of India. Eri culture is the main
source of livelihood of people of this part of the country. Tribal
communities and economically backward sections of the society are the
primary rearers of these silkworms. Eri silk shawl is crafted from 100%
natural silk yarn, which is obtained by tediously reeling the cocoons by
